Experienced banking executive joins River Run following distinguished leadership roles in consumer lending, marketing, product strategy and innovation.

River Run Bancorp, MHC is pleased to announce that Sujata Yadav has joined the organization as its President, marking an important milestone in River Run’s long-term leadership succession and continued strategic growth.

Yadav will work closely with Chief Executive Officer Lloyd L. Hamm, Jr., River Run’s Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team as she begins her transition into the leadership of River Run and its three affiliated community banks: Newburyport Bank, Pentucket Bank and Rollstone Bank & Trust.

Following a comprehensive national search, Yadav was elected President of River Run Bancorp, MHC by the Board of Directors. She will succeed Hamm as Chief Executive Officer effective July 1, 2027. At that time, Hamm will transition to Executive Chairman for a two-year period, working alongside Yadav, River Run’s Boards and Executive Leadership Team to ensure leadership continuity and a seamless transition while continuing to support strategic initiatives, mutual bank merger opportunities and the continued growth of the organization. Hamm will also remain Co-Chairman of the River Run Board with Scott Cote, Chairman of Pentucket Bank.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sujata to River Run,” said Lloyd L. Hamm, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of River Run Bancorp, MHC. “She brings tremendous leadership experience, strategic vision, energy and a genuine passion for mutual community banking. Her collaborative leadership style, commitment to people and belief in the importance of strong relationships make her an exceptional fit for River Run and the culture we have worked so hard to create.”

Yadav joins River Run following a distinguished career in banking and financial services, with extensive leadership experience spanning consumer lending, marketing, product development, analytics, innovation and strategic growth.

She joined Eastern Bank in 2017 as Senior Vice President and Consumer Lending Director. Under her leadership, Eastern Bank delivered its first fully integrated online platforms for unsecured lending and home equity. She later assumed additional responsibility for Product Marketing and Analytics, significantly enhancing the bank’s product marketing and performance measurement capabilities.

In 2021, Yadav was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. In that role, she modernized Eastern’s brand and marketing strategy, introduced a formal B2B marketing discipline, and guided marketing and communications integration through two major mergers.

Following Eastern’s merger with Cambridge Trust in July 2024, Yadav was named the company’s first Chief Product Officer. In that role, she led a centralized product team focused on product strategy and development while continuing to advance product-related marketing and data analytics to drive innovation, revenue growth and strategic alignment with evolving customer needs.

Prior to joining Eastern, Yadav spent 14 years with Citibank N.A. in national and international leadership roles across the consumer bank, where she consistently delivered growth and profitability through integrated omnichannel marketing, product development and portfolio optimization strategies.

“Sujata brings an extraordinary combination of strategic vision, innovation, leadership and execution,” Hamm said. “Throughout our extensive selection process, she distinguished herself not only through the breadth and depth of her executive accomplishments, but also through her passion for mutual community banking, her strategic mindset, her collaborative leadership style and her vision for River Run’s future. We are confident that she is exceptionally well suited to help lead River Run into its next chapter of growth and evolution.”

Yadav earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rajasthan in Jaipur, India, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, India.

She is actively involved in the community and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Winchester Hospital and the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Greater Boston. She previously served on the boards of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley and The Ad Club. She lives in Lynnfield with her husband and two sons.

“I am thrilled to join River Run and to become part of an organization with such deep roots in the communities we serve,” said Yadav. “I am very much looking forward to getting to know our people, our communities and our three community banks, and to experiencing firsthand the commitment and relationships that make River Run so special. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and about working together to build on River Run’s strong foundation while continuing its commitment to our customers, our communities and one another.”

Over the coming weeks, Yadav will visit River Run offices and branches throughout the organization, meeting employees and getting to know firsthand the people, customers and communities that are at the heart of River Run and its three community banks.

“This is an important and exciting moment in River Run’s journey,” Hamm said. “We have accomplished so much together, and I am incredibly proud of the organization we have built. But what excites me most is the opportunity that lies ahead. We have brought together three exceptional community banks, created a strong and growing organization, and remained true to the values of mutual community banking. I look forward to working closely with Sujata throughout this transition and to all that she, our leadership team and our employees will accomplish together as we continue building River Run’s future.”
